The Gray, Green & Travers Trio
Using a unique combination of ‘dobro’ guitar, acoustic guitar, and upright bass fiddle, accompanied by tight vocal harmonies, the Gray, Green & Travers Trio have created an innovative and refreshingly different approach to contemporary and traditional acoustic music. Their repertoire offers a fusion of Americana: roots music, folk, country, and blues tossed with jazz and brushed with bluegrass.
The band features Tom Gray on bass fiddle, an original member of the Seldom Scene and International Bluegrass Music Award winner. Fred Travers on dobro is a current Seldom Scene member and one of the finest bluegrass tenors in the land. Adding rhythm and lead guitar is Roger Green, well known to Calvert Marine Museum audiences as the lead in his band, the Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition.
First FREE Friday will also be held on June 2, August 4, and September 1. Performers TBA.
From June – September, the Drum Point Lighthouse is open. Free 30 minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison are available June and August sponsored by Community Bank of the Chesapeake and the Waterside Concert Series.
In December, the Christmas Walk coincides with First Free Friday and the museum is open from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., both Friday and Saturday, the first full weekend in December.
