Guests enjoyed an evening of mystical delights at the Calvert Marine Museum’s Bugeye Ball. This premier evening not only gave us the opportunity to thank our friends, but also brought us together to celebrate what we love about the museum. Attendees indulged in delicious foods, danced to live music, tried their luck at the gaming tables, and gazed at the elegant décor – it was an enchanted evening to remember.
We hope you were as excited as we were about this opportunity to highlight the museum and raise funds for our community.
We look forward to spending time with you at the 2018 Bugeye Ball.

Funds raised by the 2017 Bugeye Ball
are being dedicated to the preservation of the Drum Point Lighthouse, the most recognized symbol of Southern Maryland. Layers upon layers of paint must be removed from the wooden sides of the cottage and then repainted. The roof, which is original to the 1883 structure, must also have its paint removed and then coated with a protective elastomeric compound. The old bulkhead on the eastern side that supports the lighthouse is also failing and a survey and design for a replacement bulkhead need to be conducted. It is a large and challenging task, and we need your help to preserve this icon of our local heritage. Thank you for helping us to make this exciting preservation possible.
