Bugeye Ball

Proceeds from the Bugeye Ball

The Military and Solomons exhibits in the Maritime Gallery were installed when the Exhibition Building first opened in 1989. Proceeds from this year’s ball will fund renovation of the last section of this original exhibit and will allow us to tell stories and display objects in the museum’s extensive local history collection. The four areas of emphasis in the new exhibit will include the Amphibious Training Base at Solomons Island; Mine Warfare and Torpedoes; NAS Patuxent River; and the Webster/Bafford General Store. The museum has been awarded a $50,000 matching grant from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority and proceeds from the Ball will provide the balance of the funds needed for this extensive project.
