In the Discovery Room visitors can search for real 8 – 20 million years old fossils. A computer touch screen helps you identify your find and our younger visitors get to take one home.
In a model of the Cove Point Lighthouse children climb the tower to turn on the light, then enjoy a book in the keeper's cottage.
There is a skiff built in the museum’s boat shop where children can raise and lower the sail and steer using the rudder.
At the Life in the Bay exhibit, visitors can get an up close look at some of the curious creatures in the Chesapeake Bay and nearby Atlantic Ocean including horseshoe crabs, diamondback terrapins, sea stars, and sea urchins. Be sure to look for the hidden pictures in the mural!
