The Calvert Marine Museum education department creates educational programming that guides visitors of all ages in an exploration of the prehistoric past, natural environments, and maritime heritage of Southern Maryland as interpreted in the museum’s exhibits. Our museum educators are experienced with all ages and we are happy to adapt our programs to fit the specific developmental needs of your group or class.
Admission fees are waived for Calvert County municipal and non-profit groups.
Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Self-guided Group Visits
In order to qualify for group rates, you must have a minimum of 10 paying visitors and call two weeks in advance. The cost for self-guided groups is $6 for adults and $4 for children 5 – 12 years. Children under 5 are free. To enhance your museum experience, we recommend that large groups divide into units of 10 to 12; children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
Would you like to earn a Calvert Marine Museum Patch? Download the Self-Guided Patch Program, complete the activities and purchase your patch in the Museum Store. This is designed for self-guided groups or individuals and their adults. Please download the Patch Program now.
Docent Led Tours
If you would like to have a guided tour of the museum, make that request when scheduling your group visit. Fees may apply.
